Internship Summary

For my internship requirement during my study abroad in Taiwan I worked together with Shuang Lian Li Social Enterprise in Zhuolan Taiwan. My job was social media marketing to raise awareness for the company. Shuang Lian Li works with local farmers to provide them with more income by removing the middle agents. Shuang Lian Li’s mission is to raise the profits for the farmers to make farming a more ideal career path for the local kids to pursue. As of now few people want to become farmers because the work is physically and mentally challenging and the profit is low. Before creating the advertisements I traveled to Miaoli to observe the farming, distributing and business process that is involved with working with the farmers. During my internship I learned three main things: first is how to create advertisements to gather the attention of people, second is the importance of farming for local communities, and third is the importance of social enterprises on a global scale.
